Warnings and cautions

• Discard unfinished thickened feeds or unused made-up gel immediately.
• The teat for thickened bottle feeds may require a larger hole or a variable flow split teat.
• Infants should be supervised at all times when feeding.
• Not suitable for preterm or low birthweight babies; no clinical data available for these infants.
• Always use under medical supervision and follow all instructions carefully.
• Not suitable as a sole source of nutrition.
• For good dental hygiene, clean your baby’s teeth regularly, especially before bedtime.

How to use

1. Wash hands and sterilise all utensils according to manufacturer’s instructions.
2. In a bottlefeed: Prepare infant milk as per the manufacturer's guidelines. Add Instant Carobel as indicated in the feeding guide below. Shake well for 30-60 seconds. Leave for 3-4 minutes to thicken. Shake again and feed immediately. Do not heat in a microwave as hot spots may occur.
3. As a spoonfeed or paste: Add Instant Carobel as indicated in the feeding guide below. Stir well and leave for 3-4 minutes to thicken. Stir again and feed immediately by spoon, prior to and during the feed or meal.

Feeding guide:

Method: In a bottlefeed, Consistency: thin, Level scoops of instant carobel: 1/2, Hand warm infant milk: 90ml (3 fl. oz), Concentration: 1%

Method: In a bottlefeed, Consistency: thick, Level scoops of instant carobel: 1, Hand warm infant milk: 60ml (2 fl. oz), Concentration: 3%

Method: As a spoonfeed or paste, Consistency: very thick, Level scoops of instant carobel: 3, Hand warm infant milk: 60ml (2 fl. oz), Concentration: 9%

Instant Carobel will continue to thicken up to 4-15 minutes after mixing. Therefore, it is advisable to add Instant Carobel one scoop at a time, stir well, allow to thicken, and then add more Instant Carobel until the desired consistency is achieved.

1 level scoop = 1.7g. Always use the scoop provided.
