Solpadeine Plus Capsules provide triple-action relief from acute moderate pain using Paracetamol 500mg, Codeine Phosphate Hemihydrate 8mg and Caffeine 30mg per capsule, for use when other painkillers have not worked.

Solpadeine Plus Capsules are a Pharmacy Only (P) medicine formulated for the short-term treatment of acute moderate pain that has not been adequately relieved by paracetamol or ibuprofen alone. Each capsule contains three complementary active ingredients: Paracetamol 500mg, which blocks chemical pain messengers in the brain; Codeine Phosphate Hemihydrate 8mg, a mild opioid analgesic that acts on the central nervous system to reduce the perception of pain; and Caffeine 30mg, which enhances and speeds up the pain-relieving effects of both paracetamol and codeine. Together, they provide stronger and faster-acting relief than paracetamol alone for conditions including headache, migraine, dental pain, period pain, backache, sciatica, strains, sprains and rheumatic or arthritic pain.

This medicine contains codeine and can cause addiction if taken for more than 3 days. It must not be used for longer than 3 consecutive days without medical advice and must not be taken alongside any other paracetamol-containing products. As the capsules contain caffeine, excessive caffeine intake from other sources such as coffee, tea and energy drinks should be avoided during use. Suitable for

Warnings and cautions

• This medicine contains codeine and can cause addiction. Do not take for more than 3 days. If you need to take this medicine for more than 3 days, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
• Do not take with any other paracetamol-containing products. Taking more than the recommended dose of paracetamol can be dangerous.
• Not suitable for children under 12 years of age due to risk of severe breathing problems.
• Not recommended for adolescents aged 12 to 18 who have breathing problems.
• Do not take if you are a known ultra-rapid codeine metaboliser, or are allergic to paracetamol, codeine or caffeine.
• Contains caffeine avoid excessive caffeine intake from coffee, tea and other sources during use.
• Taking this medicine for headaches for more than 3 days can make them worse.
• This medicine may cause drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery if affected.
• Do not take if you have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) within the last 14 days.
• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless advised by a healthcare professional.
• Seek immediate medical attention in the event of an overdose, even if you feel well.
• Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Always read the enclosed patient information leaflet before use.

How to use

1. For oral use. Swallow capsules whole with water. Adults and children aged 16 years and over: take 1 to 2 capsules every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more frequently than every 4 hours. Do not take more than 8 capsules in 24 hours.
2. Adolescents aged 16 to 18 years: take 1 to 2 capsules every 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 8 capsules in 24 hours.
3. Children aged 12 to 15 years: take 1 capsule every 6 hours if needed. Do not take more than 4 capsules in 24 hours.
4. Do not use for more than 3 days. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
