Vicks Sinex Micromist Nasal Spray is a targeted decongestant spray designed to give localised relief from a blocked nose caused by colds, hay fever, catarrh or sinusitis. It contains oxymetazoline hydrochloride, a tried and tested decongestant that works by narrowing swollen blood vessels in the nasal passages to help open them up and ease congestion.

The gentle micromist delivers an ultra-fine spray for even distribution inside the nose, helping the medicine reach where it is needed while providing a refreshing menthol and eucalyptus sensation. Relief usually begins within a few minutes and can last for up to 8 hours, making it suitable for use during the day or at night to support clearer, more comfortable breathing.

Warnings and cautions

• Only use this medicine for a short time and to help with your symptom. Do not use for more than 5 consecutive days.
• Always follow the instructions on the packaging and Patient Information Leaflet which comes with the medicine, do not exceed the daily recommended dose and take note of the minimum time interval between doses.
• Do not use alongside other oral and nasal forms of medicines used to treat a blocked nose, such as pseudoephedrine, phenylephrine or ephedrine
• Using this medicine for longer than the recommended duration can make your symptoms worse, your nose may become blocked again, and you may get other problems such as runny nose, sneezing, itching and irritation or your body can stop responding to the medicine.
• Contact your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 5 days, if you have been using for longer than recommended or if you experience ongoing congestion, irritation, sneezing, or a runny nose.
• If you experience any side effects, speak to a healthcare professional and report them via the Yellow Card scheme.

How to use

1. Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over: spray 1–2 times into each nostril, 2–3 times daily as needed.
2. Do not use more often than 2–3 times a day or for longer than 5–7 consecutive days; if you miss a dose, simply use the spray at the next usual time and do not double the dose.

Ingredients

Active ingredient: oxymetazoline hydrochloride 0.05% w/v (0.5 mg/ml). Other ingredients include levomenthol, sodium citrate dihydrate, tyloxapol, citric acid anhydrous, chlorhexidine digluconate solution, benzalkonium chloride solution, camphor, disodium edetate dihydrate, eucalyptol, sodium hydroxide and purified water.
